The Coming of Winter

Back to the News
December brings the promise of winter.
Snow flurried clouds on winds fill the sky.
The days are short; the colors are warm.
Orange tells of the afternoon sunset.
Snow flakes flutter to the winter-ready grass.
The cusp of winter surrounds me.
The winds from the west bring cool crisp winds.
The sun from the west brings warm beams of light.
The flurries depart to the east.
They take their snow and colors to the sea.
The sun in the west forms a ball of yellow.
It falls between the spruces, the light of day is going out.
The moon in the east rises above the flurried clouds,
And into the last of day's the cool blue.
Winter is coming, but first comes the night.
